| | BAHM: I heard several tracks from your
|
| the Bay Area what the Hyphy Movement is
| |
| | latest album and they are straight
|
| all about and you will get many different
| |
| | Slumper. What is your favorite track,
|
| meanings and perspectives. To some, it
| |
| | what is the album called & when is it
|
| refers to a particular style of rap music
| |
| | getting released? Greenie: My much
|
| developed in Northern California. To
| |
| | anticipated album is due out this month
|
| others, it is a lifestyle of going all
| |
| | however, I keep pushing it back since I
|
| out, living life to the fullest and
| |
| | just received word that Snoop Dogg is
|
| partying hard. But a true definition of
| |
| | only a phone call away. The album will be
|
| this movement is hard to come by. So who
| |
| | named The Legend Of Chester Copperpot. My
|
| can truly explain what it's all about?
| |
| | favorite track on the album would have to
|
| In search of such a person, we heard
| |
| | be "Who Drop," no one has heard it yet
|
| about one emerging Hyphy artist getting
| |
| | cause I wont let anyone listen to it. IT
|
| ready to release a new album with guest

| |
| | BAHM: What can we expect in the future of
|
| Diggs, among others. This artist
| |
| | Hyphy music? Greenie: Hopefully, you
|
| certainly tells it like it is, so we gave
| |
| | will see a unified Bay where we aint at
|
| him a chance to explain the Hyphy
| |
| | war with each other, right now shit is
|
| movement.
| |
| | outta control with the violence in the
|
| Driving around the Bay Area in a custom
| |
| | rich and in the O. If we could get
|
| made limousine with the words "Hyphy
| |
| | unified, hyphy music could really be a
|
| Train" painted across the rear window,
| |
| | driving force behind rap music in
|
| this emerging artist calls himself
| |
| | general.
|
| Greenie. Whether he means to or not, his
| |
| | BAHM: What other artists should we be
|
| deep, raspy voice carries a Hyphy tone
| |
| | looking for outta Northern Cali?
|
| that encapulates this Bay Area movement.
| |
| | Greenie: Obviously you got the San
|
| (THAT'S HYPHY: Press play to hear
| |
| | Quinn's, E-40's, keek da sneek that make
|
| Greenie's "We Hit the Block")
| |

| |

|
| Part 1 Bay Area Hyphy Movement (BAHM):
| |
| | some big thangs in the upcoming future
|
| From what we understand, Hyphy can be
| |
| | months.
|
| crazy dance moves or just smashing
| |
| | BAHM: There have been rough times for you
|
| someone in the face. How would you define
| |
| | working on your latest album. Did you
|
| Hyphy? Greenie: Hyphy as I understand
| |
| | ever think about quitting the rap thing
|
| it literally means hyper and fly, but
| |
| | altogether? What kept you going?
|
| really its how all da homies from the Bay
| |
| | Greenie: It's tough in the rap game since
|
| get down when we listen to our Bay style
| |
| | everybody and there mother is tryin to
|
| music.
| |
| | rap. There are times still where I'm like
|
| BAHM: Some might say the Hyphy Movement
| |
| | shit I aint making that money off this
|
| is just a fad? Can it last? Greenie:
| |
| | thing like I thought I would, but than
|
| Thats like asking is hiphop or rap a fad,
| |
| | another thing I've really come to realize
|
| hell no it aint a fad, its a lifestle
| |
| | is that I really enjoy rapping, I love
|
| music. I think it will evolve and take
| |
| | it, that shit is fucken fun when you lay
|
| different forms, but now when we refer to
| |
| | down something dope. Selling records
|
| hyphy, we are talking bout Bay style, Bay
| |
| | these days is all bout marketing. I feel
|
| area rap.
| |
| | like I've surrounded myself with the
|
| BAHM: What does the Hyphy movement mean
| |
| | right people, I've got my features up,
|
| to the Bay Area? Greenie: Well, its
| |
| | and this is the best album I've ever done
|
| just like I said rap/hip-hop started in
| |
| | so regardless of the response I'm still
|
| Queens. It evolved took different forms.
| |
| | happy.
|
| Today, the South would refer to there
| |
| | BAHM: Do you like the direction that hip
|
| style of rap as crunk, the Bay would
| |
| | hop music is going, or would you like to
|
| refer to its Style as hyphy. But not
| |
| | see something different? Greenie: I do
|
| everyone who is from the Bay raps with a
| |
| | not understand how some of this shit
|
| hyphy style. I for one only have three
| |
| | makes it to TV and the radio but I'm not
|
| songs on my album that I would classify
| |
| | gon hate on them for there success.
|
| as "hyphy" the rest are just normal rap.
| |
| | Obviously they were doing something
|
| E-40's last album every song was hyphy,
| |
| | right. Hip hop will never be the same as
|
| kick drum slumping hard, beats per minute
| |
| | it was since it's birth in the early
|
| slightly sped up, and e-40 spittin
| |
| | eighties late seventies. Early on we were
|
| somethin vicious, THATS HYPHY at its
| |
| | learning from each others as emcees, what
|
| core, and everybody in the Bay is down
| |
| | sounded hot and street cred, and what not
|
| with it so its important for the Bay in
| |
| | to say. Now that most shit from the
|
| that it brings us all together.
| |
| | street has been taught by previous emcees
|
| BAHM: So tell us about the new album.
| |
| | it's hard for an artist to express new
|
| What should fans expect, who are some of
| |
| | ideas that haven't really been touched by
|
| the guest appearances? Greenie: First
| |
| | previous rappers. So a lot of what you
|
| off I'd like to say that I am a huge fan
| |
| | here is repetitive like look at the
|
| of rap first before ever being an artist.
| |
| | diamonds I've got, the cars, the bytches,
|
| The game is missing a classic element in
| |
| | the dope, my street life. As long as we
|
| that people are rapping whole songs and
| |
| | keep rappin bout the same shit we're
|
| aren't saying shit. It's look what I got,
| |
| | kinda stuck, so what I've tried to do is
|
| whereas before you could pickup a dope
| |
| | create shit that hasn't really been
|
| record and actually learn a lot of street
| |
| | touched and try to be original as much as
|
| shit. In this album you could pick it up
| |
| | possible. I've also got OG'S from the rap
|
| and learn a lot of shit about Northern
| |
| | game on the album so I can bring that
|
| California and this sick ass place we
| |
| | original flavor of hip hop to the
|
| call the Bay Area. I brought several of
| |
| | present. Too Short, and the Reyes
|
| my favorite artists from the Bay Area and
| |
| | brothers from Cypress Hill, are some of
|
| LA together to make this dope album. Look
| |
| | the artists you'll find on my record and
|
| for Too $hort San Quinn, J diggs, and
| |
| | they are some of my favorite artists of
|
| Roscoe of the Dogg Pound, to name a few,
| |
| | all time as well.
|
| and classic producers like One Drop Scott
